Ladies Permanent Hair Removal-IPL & SHR

IPL and SHR permanent hair removal treatments emit light at wavelengths that are absorbed by the pigment in the hair follicle. This disrupts the hair follicle, preventing hair from growing back.
With SuperLUX, you can choose from rapid, pain free SHR hair removal treatments for larger areas or Dual-Mode IPL for smaller areas and clients with lighter pigmented hair – such as shades of blonde and red hair.

How is SHR IPL hair reduction different?

SHR technology is a breakthrough innovation in IPL treatments. The difference between IPL SHR and other IPL machines is that SHR scans the treatment area with up to 10 flashes per second. This gradually heats the targeted area for painless hair reduction, instead of high intensity shots that can cause discomfort, experienced with traditional IPL.

Is IPL SHR hair reduction suitable for me?

Treatments are suitable for a wide range of skin types and hair colours. Your clinician will discuss your expected results during your consultation.

How many treatments will I need?

This depends on your individual hair type. Most clients require 8-10 sessions to achieve optimum results though hair will reduce and become finer with each treatment. For some, maintenance treatments may be required to achieve a lifetime of smooth skin. This will depend on a range of factors, which your clinician will discuss during consultation.

How long do I have to wait between treatments?

Treatments must be conducted at regular intervals. These vary depending on the area being treated. As an example, the face may be treated at 2-4-week intervals, while the chest, back and legs may be treated every 8 weeks.

What can I expect after my SHR IPL sessions?

Facial hair will take 7-10 days to fall out while body hair may take 2-3 weeks. Individual results will depend on your skin type, hair coarseness and natural growth cycle. Your clinician will be able to provide more information on what you can expect based on your individual situation during your consultation.

Advanced IPL Technology

IPL stands for Intense Pulsed Light. It is a non invasive light based technology used to permanently remove unwanted hair.

IPL is suitable for a wider range of hair colours compared to laser hair removal, including blonde and red hair. Furthermore, IPL treats a much larger area of skin per light pulse than laser, which makes it a faster and more cost effective treatment option.

IPL is a leading choice when seeking permanent and hassle-free hair removal solutions. In addition, IPL offers a great way to save on the ongoing cost and time spent on waxing, shaving and depilatory creams.

Usually a course of 6-8 treatments is required to achieve an optimal result, but once you’ve completed your treatment cycle, you can look forward to a lifetime of smooth skin with only the occasional maintenance treatment.

Body treated every 4-10 weeks

Chest, back and legs treated every 8 weeks

On average most clients will require 8-10 treatments to achieve up to 80%-90% removal of hair, Hair decreases and becomes finer from the first treatment. Maintance and touch ups are recommended thereafter 2-4 times per year.

factors that affect the results

Hair Colour – darker, coarser hair responds better. Fine, fair, blonde and red hair will respond slower to treatment. White and grey hair will not respond to treatment

Skin Color – lighter skin types tolerate higher fluencies’, thus reducing the number of treatments and vice versa. It is advised to stay as fair as possible during the course of the treatment, thus the use of a SPF 30+ sunscreen or higher is essential

Hormones – hormonal hair (including facial hair on women and back hair on men) takes longer to respond than hair in other areas and will require maintenance treatments and results may be unpredictable. Other factors affecting hormonal hair growth, such breast feeding, testosterone producing exercise, certain me tions, thyro and stress concerns can also impact results

Age – treatment during life changes (ie: puberty, menopause. andropause, etc) will affect results
